"...
I see your picture, I smell your skin
On the empty pillow next to mine
You have only been gone ten days
But already I'm wasting away
I know I'll see you again
Whether far or soon
But I need you to know
THAT I CARE AND I MISS YOU..."

NOT another case of the Mondays
Today, I woke up & decided I was going to kick this Monday's ass! ;) The weekend was a rough one.. not a lot of positive to speak about. Therefore, I was going to get rid of the bad streak, and start a new week with a great attitude! What better way to do that than shop for baby stuff !!! I hit the mother load today at Hobby Lobby - great deals on everything I needed! I found the fabric I had wanted to match up with the ladybug pattern I bought to make a shopping cart seat cover! Here's the fabric....

Say it isn't sew..
That's right, today was my very first sewing lesson, and I couldn't be more excited! It went really well. It was a one on one class about the veerrry basics - Just what I needed! What inspired me to try out the long lost art of sewing was Ms. Mia. && my mother, my mother in law, my grammie & my aunt - they are all so talented in many ways! I can remember growing up, watching my mother sew together a quilt to send to my dad while he was over seas... Sitting in the recliner next to my gram as she taught me to cross stitch... Listening to Josh talk about how his mom would make all of their clothes when they were growing up & one year made the whole family M&Ms for Halloween. Children remember these things, and I would like my kiddos to look back on their childhood, remembering their Mumma sewing their Halloween costume together or making new sheets for their "BIG GIRL" bed... stuff like that. In any case, I wanted to try it out before hand,to see if it really was my cup of tea. I LOVE IT !
I have my next lesson on Friday which I will actually be working on my very own project: Crib sheets, baby bib & burp cloth. I have found the cutest fabric at JoAnns that I cannot wait to put to use.
Other projects I have on my list are:
car seat cover
shopping cart baby cover
changing mat
receiving blankets
quilt
...and that's all I can think of as of now. Starting out small.

as the clock tics..
Between 3 PM and 5 PM -- It's exhausting to watch how slow the minute hand tics...
I look up at the clock, 4:04.. Check my phone, still no phone call, still have service. 4:07, repeat process. Move the location of the cell phone just in case. 4:13, same status..........
This is the time frame I usually hear from Joshua when he is able to call.. My cell phone is never out of my sight. On those special days, 3:48 & the phone rings... and it's the number I've been holding my breath for. It's amazing what three words from my husband, my best friend's voice can do... It's euphoric.
Most people cannot wait until 5 o'clock rolls around due to work, school, practice, whatever it'd be. Me, on the other hand, dreads the tic of 5. One more day without the sound of his voice, but you never know what tomorrow holds.. it may be that special day.

What a load of...
CLOTH DIAPERS.
Oh my goodness.. I never thought the subject of cloth diapering could become this overwhelming! I had NO idea all the different brands, styles, acronyms, chinese folds, prefolds, indian folds, flat folds.. geeeez. After countless hours of research over the subject, I have come to a decision as to what diapers to buy for our baby. With the help from www.diaperswappers.com, www.mamasource.com, and www.cottonbabies.com, Joshua and I (he doesn't know this yet ;) ) will be proud parents of a cloth bottom! We are going to try old fashioned Gerber 6-ply prefolds with Thirsties covers while our little Mia is a newborn, and in time will move on up to BumGenius One size with liners. Wish us luck! I'm actually rather excited about this.. My mother cloth diapered all three of us kiddos growing up, and now I'm trying for the same :). I also found an alternative to baby wipes. Check out www.diaperpin.com for the solution to cleaning bums. Who would have thought years ago I would be this excited about cleaning my little ones bum! <3 Oh I cannot WAIT to meet our Mia!

Old habits die hard..
I use to blog many moons ago - Senior year of highschool until my Jr year of college. All of a sudden, I stopped blogging. Reasons permitting were possibly the 2 jobs,18 hours of school, and an internship 3 days a week that started at 5 AM.. Nevertheless... I'm BACK! :)
