Little Bo Peep

This was the most tedious part, with the exception of sewing the zipper in (first timer).
...and after about 7 hours of work, our lil' lady had a Little Bo Peep costume! She wants to wear it everyday.. :)

Labor Day Weekend

We have continued our Sunday Funday Family Day tradition. Yesterday, we decided to take Mia to the Children's Museum... as did every other family living in the desert, trying to escape the 114 degrees outside! Boy, did she(WE)have a ball!
After 3 hours (and well into nap time)of painting, dress up, blocks, wall pinball, wire maze, and rope madness -- we decided to pack it up and head to Joann's where I could grab the fabric I needed to make Mia's Halloween costume. Talk about a successful trip! We walked out of the store with 30 dollars in savings and more than just costume materials ---typical Joann trip. :)

Today has been the perfect craft day due to the slow drizzle since dawn. I got out all of my goodies from Joann's and washed, ironed and cut out Mia's costume. I would have started sewing, but rain is like trytophan for me... I get soo sleepy. So, sewing will commence tomorrow during Mia's nap time!

Baby Hooded Towels

These towels are the PERFECT baby shower gift, or if you're anything like me... a belated birth present. :)

I have found that Target has the best towels to use for this.. not too expensive, soft, and durable.

You will need: 1 wash cloth, 1 bath towel, and a spool of ribbon of your choice.

getting back into the groove..

Hello, again! It's been almost a year since the last post. I guess you can tell life got a little crazy after the lil' lady turned one! But I'm back... and am looking forward to keeping you updated with my latest crafts! I have a cricut machine coming in this week -- YAY! I'm about to explode with ideas; I'm beyond excited!

It pays off in the end...

here's a running list of what I believe is worth paying a couple extra pennies for the better "brand"...

1.Toilet paper
2.Vanilla Extract
3.Eggs -- I have noticed a difference in my baking when using cage free eggs.
4.Face lotion
5.Diapers
6.Makeup

Natural Disasters..

Here's the latest...

I happened to take the before picture that morning... I layed down to take a power nap. I awoke to what I thought was thunder, which was strange to me since we live out in the desert where there are hardly every thunder storms. I went to the kitchen to look out our back door, and the second picture is what I saw... along with lightning, rolling tumbleweeds, and rain. Pretty eerie....

Now, I have been through/in: Tornado, Hurricane, Earthquake, Sandstorm. I think I'm good. No more please!

Our Lil' Lady bug's crawling!

I can't believe I forgot to post this HUGE milestone!

Mia has been teasing us for almost two months now. She's been rocking back and forth on her hands and knees and even moving her hand forward, but then deciding otherwise and would lay flat and army crawl.

On Wednesday evening, Josh came home from work and layed down on the floor with Mia. She got up on her hands and knees, and just started going to him!! AHhhh!! I was in the kitchen making frigadella's. I ran in the living room, grabbed the camera, and started recording! YAY MIA! I am sooo happy Josh was home to witness this.. you never know when you're in the military.

Nothing is safe now. Kiddo has tossed in her jumper for her hands and knees. She's all over the place. I guess it's liberating for her.. kind of like when we turned 16 and were handed the car keys. I new type of freedom!
